A (is for Anarchy) 1998 By designing a fluorescent dress-code and a new ‘Anarchy’ icon as origin to form a punk-band, Martijn Sandberg created the ingredients for his performance in blacklight-setting, called ‘A’. Constantly changing the formation by recruiting members of various punk-bands, the ‘image’ and 15 minutes performance by the band is used by Martijn Sandberg as instrument or metaphor for the distribution of energy and anarchy on various locations. Having designed the corporate identity in 1998 for a band that always and never splits-up, the continuing series ‘A’ include performances at the gallery-space of Begane Grond Utrecht/ NL, University of Amsterdam, discotheque Mazzo Amsterdam and at group-show ‘Club.NL’ in Dubrovnik/ CR, where ‘A’ was performed by teenagers from the local punk scene. |
